Weekend Family Style

For just about every mom, the weekends are quite busy. Clark and Stone are usually busy every Saturday morning with either Kids Science Lab, baseball, or attending birthday parties. Needless to say, how I dress and how they choose to dress is important. It’s not often that I get to run home to change, or change them for that matter. So, when we get up Saturday morning between the hours of 6-7am (they’re early birds), what we select has the whole day in mind. Gone are the days of several outfit changes before kids. My outfit and theirs has to stand the test of time (literally) for most days. I enjoy creating our weekend family stye and hope you will too!

Mama Bird

I am a mama bird. I’m extremely protective of them  I love my boys dearly and I would do just about anything for them. However, building their independence and their critical thinking abilities is very important to me. My nephew Zur got me this t shirt for Mother’s Day. My nephew is super cool, stylish, and caring. He is a great cousin to Clark and Stone and I’m so thankful to spend time with him every chance I get while he’s living in Chicago. He told me he had sent me a little gift (he’s in college at Columbia) for Mother’s Day and he hoped I loved it. When I opened the package, I had the biggest smile on my face.  I am a mama bird and I’m damn proud of it. You can do whatever you want to me, but watch out if you even think about my boys.

I love this t-shirt because cream is my color and I especially love graphic tees. This one – hands down – tells you who I am, sincerely. Funny anecdote, my Dad’s nickname is “bird,” and I was “little bird” as a young girl. Now, as a woman and a mother to Clark and Stone, I am “mama bird!”

I’m wearing my super cute and soft t-shirt with an olive green, high-waist paper bag cinched pant from Zara. This outfit is both chic and comfortable, wouldn’t you agree? Perfect mom style and can take me to most of the boys’ activities (and mine). Check out The Bee and The Fox for other amazing t-shirts this brand carries.

The Boys and The Weekend

Clark and Stone live in bright, bold, colors. I love to see them pick out their clothes but it’s changing every day. They are quickly approaching the boy stage where they would much rather wear athletic wear. But, I’m going to milk the fun shirts and shorts look as long as I can.

Clark and Stone’s shirts and shorts are both from H&M. I love affordable style for them as they are boys and think they are indestructible, lol.  I can’t stand cringing at them destroying a nice pair of shorts that cost a little bit more than I should’ve spent, so we stick with a lot of H&M. They are both wearing  Adidas Stan Smith tennis shoes.  tone’s have velcro closures and Clark’s have shoe strings. I love Stan Smith’s for boys as they are so versatile. Actually, as a family, we all own a pair. They are so comfortable and go with just about everything, even dresses and skirts.

A cute shirt, shorts, and stylish kicks makes the perfect formula for your family’s weekend style.

Love it, Ceta! My nick name for Jaye is “Jaye-Bird”, so I’ll have to get a “Mama Bird” t-shirt myself! 🙂 Love the blog — keep up the good work.

Geneva!!! You warm my heart. Isn’t this the cutest shirt? My nephew got it for me for Mother’s Day. You have to get one. Now they should just make one that says baby bird. lol
