What’s up, peeps? I am so excited to share my new blog series, Trending Fridays. Every other Friday I will share a favorite trend of mine. It will most likely be fashion for either me or Clark and Stone. The post will be short and sweet to inspire you and showcase my fave items that showcase the trend. To kick off the series, I am starting with corduroy.
How to Style Corduroy
I have to say, I am a huge fan of all of the trends for fall 2018. This may be the first season since blogging where I have shot four of the top trends multiple times. One of my favorite trends for fall is corduroys. They are so cute and so comfortable. I’m going to show you how to wear the corduroy trend. Sit tight and let the fashion begin.
Corduroy is one of my favorite trends for fall mainly for the comfort. These are not the same corduroys you wore in lower school or junior high. The corduroys on trend are styled in numerous ways. You can find corduroy suits, flares, skirts and even western shirts. Who would’ve ever thought corduroys would be chic? They can be dressed up or down and for just about any occasion.
I’m wearing a pair of crop cords from &Other Stories. First and foremost, they are high waisted. As a mom, I need to feel comfortable and stylish. The high waist does the trick. It gives me the ability to eat and still look fly. They also have a little bit of stretch which is always nice.
The color is also very on trend for fall. The super-rich Bordeaux color goes well with everything including the season trend, pink. Therefore, I styled this look with two fall trends—a pink animal print motorcycle jacket that I rented from ByFashionaholic and a pink turtleneck from Zara. This is the perfect way to stay on trend and classic at the same time. All of the pieces stand alone season after season, yet they’re still trendy.
This is usually the formula I use when choosing what to purchase or when investing in trends. I look for trends that can stand the test of time and not for just a season. These cords will be in my closet for a while because they can truly stand the test of time. They are going to be cute with some sneakers, ankle boots or even sock booties for fall.
