Transitional Fall Style

Chicago, it’s that time of year. Fall is in full effect and this is when I try to look good and warm at the same time. Bloomingdales has proved to be tried and true for providing brands that offer great style. Barbour is a British lifestyle brand that provides style for the whole family. Transitional style is quite easy with Barbour and the great style they offer for fall. My aubergine coat from the classic brand is great for fall. It’s also great for Chicago’s early springtime. Hence, it’s transitional style.

Transitional Style

Fall in Chicago can be kinda tricky. Sometimes you just don’t know what you’re gonna get. Prime example, two weeks ago it was 85 degrees but yesterday it was only 40. What do you wear in a city with fickle weather? Well, I like to start with a jacket that can get me through two or more seasons. My Barbour aubergine jacket is perfect for Chicago. You have so many styling options. Let me begin with how I styled it.

Casual Chic

I fell in love with this Barbour aubergine jacket the minute I saw it. I got a size 2 because I like my jackets with a fitted, tailored look. The jacket offers snap pockets, a corduroy collar, plaid cuffs and a double vented back with snap closures. It’s perfect for Clark and Stone’s flag football games at Montrose Harbor. Anything close to the lake in the fall is a little too breezy for me without a jacket.

This color makes it easy to style as the options to pair it with are endless. I chose to pair my aubergine jacket with a pink turtleneck and a light pink beret. Turtlenecks and berets are two hot trends for fall. This totally takes this jacket from just OK to really cool. That’s the thing with this jacket, you can totally dress it up or down. The fit makes it versatile. I can easily slip this jacket on with a tee, sweats and sneakers. However, I chose skinny jeans and studded loafers. Casual chic is how I like to look in the fall.

The Most Versatile Jacket

Another option for this jacket is to throw on a sweater, skirt and some suede boots. Knee length boots or ankle booties are good options. Styling aubergine with brown would look really good thanks to the plaid cuffs. You can also choose a cute backpack or cross body bag to complete this look.

If you’re a blogger, the season right now will add a great backdrop for this jacket. I mean, just look at the leaves on the trees behind me. This was right outside my doorstep. I usually don’t like shooting on residential streets but I couldn’t resist. Can you blame me? Holiday cards are something to think about with this look for your whole family. The pink hues of the trees make the jacket look like a million bucks. Actually, this jacket makes everything look good.

Bloomingdales carries an extensive selection of Barbour for women. This aubergine color also comes in a super cute quilted vest. Bloomingdales never skips on style and quality. The Barbour brand offers so many pieces for transitioning seasons. This jacket will get you through fall, winter, and early spring. Trust me.
