Fall happens to be my favorite season of the year — yes, even over summer. It’s for that very reason I am writing this post. I love wearing jackets in the fall because it allows you to transition some of your summer looks into the cooler weather. You don’t have to search high and low for the perfect jacket, either — it’s easier to find than you think.
The perfect fall jacket allows you to layer your looks. It also goes with everything from a maxi dress, to mini skirts, to here with my favorite pair of high waisted jeans. Fall weather can be fickle, so having a go-to for layering is always a good idea. I anticipated chilly weather today and it turned out to be very sunny, but I was able to remove a layer and still keep on my cute jacket.
Buffalo plaid happens to be one of my all-time favorite prints for both fall and winter. I found this Isabel Marant buffalo plaid jacket at the Lurie Childrens Founders Board Designer Closet. This jacket is very similar considering Isabel Marant makes one every season.
Also, red is definitely the color of the season for fall 2017, which may lend to my obsession with buffalo plaid. Stay tuned for my post on all things red. Anywho, this jacket is ideal because of its versatility. I especially love the ribbed cream cuffs detail — it helps to make this jacket a bit of a neutral. Between it being slightly oversized and buffalo plaid — it’s the perfect combination for me.
Transitioning Summer Style
My casual style is completely illustrated in this look. I’m also transitioning my summer staple (i.e. the crop t-shirt) into fall with the help of this amazing jacket. I fell in love with this xkarla white sleeveless crop top, though, and have to keep wearing it as long as possible. Celebrity stylist, Karla Welch, launched a line of t-shirts using Hanes cotton and they are amazing. The collection comes in seven different styles. It’s the perfect top to wear with my buffalo plaid fall jacket all season long.
I picked my favorite jeans from H&M to help make the transition from my summer style. A high waist and an unfinished hem will always make my day. Black jeans are growing on me and I love this pair, so I keep them in the weekly rotation.
I chose to wear the brand new Rebecca Minkoff kitten heel bootie because kitten heels are all the rage this season. Trust me on this and thank me later.
The piece de resistance for this look though, has to be this red epi leather from Louis Vuitton. This bag was also found at the Lurie Children’s Founders Board Designer Closet. Louis Vuitton is always the icing on the cake, however, fashion for a cause makes the deal even sweeter.
Lurie Children’s Founders Board will host a two day designer resale shop, September 15th and 16th from 4:00pm-6:30pm. Fashionista Friday allows twenty somethings to save 15% on Friday. Proceeds will go directly to support the families of patients at Lurie Children’s Hospital.
