I love music and I share my love for music with Clark and Stone. We have dance parties after dinner or anytime the mood strikes us. I went to several music concerts while I was pregnant with Clark and Stone, collectively. Maybe their love for lyrics and beats came through the womb. It’s no wonder living in Chicago, with all of the music festivals, I’m compelled to take them to their first concert. There are so many music festivals in Chicago and some are quite kid friendly.
What I Wear
I love going to music festivals. It’s my halloween as a woman. I love connecting with my inner boho, love child, spirit. I’m for all the fringe, crop tops, kimono wraps, cowboy boots, and ripped jean shorts. I love the smell of fresh air while grooving to my favorite artists on stage. I love it all!
But, what do you wear once you become a mom? It’s simple, for me. I choose a more conservative version of what I would usually wear. I still go for the boho chic feel, but I choose to cover up for that burger and fries that I enjoy now. Before kids, I lived for a belly moment, andnow I live for a burger, lol.
I found this super cute black fringe top at Zara and it’s on sale right now for $12.99. My romper is from the Mrs. Boho Chic, Rebecca Minkoff. I love the crisp white and the knots instead of buckles in the front. I also love the button front. This romper is so comfy and needless to say, it will hide my burger and fries. A girl’s gotta eat, right? This black hat that I constantly have on rotation is from the queen of French “it” girls, Anine Bing. It’s reasonless and timeless. It also comes in beige. My booties are also from Rebecca Minkoff. They are perfect for standing, dancing, and running around with Clark and Stone.
Cool Kids Clothes
For Clark and Stone, I always let them pick out their clothes and just let the chips fall where they may. They love bright colors so I always shop for fun prints for them to wear. Boys summer clothes are so much fun.
Clark’s shirt is Polo Ralph Lauren. They are both wearing shorts from H&M. typically buy majority of their clothes here in the summer time. It’s perfect for the mess and dirt they tend to be attracted to during the summer (or always?). H&M offers stylish comfortable clothes at a reasonable price.
Who will we go see in concert? That still remains to be the question. Maybe Bruno Mars, maybe Chance The Rapper, or Kidzapalooza. There are several in Chicago to choose from! However, we will be fashionably late and ready to get our groove on.

BONUS: Here is a list of some of my favorite music festivals in Chicago
Square Roots Festival – The Lincoln Square Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce and Old Town School of Folk Music offers more than 40 local craft brews, great food, and entertainment. July 7 – 9th in Lincoln Square.
Lollapalooza – Lollapalooza is more than just a music festival. Taking place each year in historic Grant Park, Lolla is a four-day cultural experience that takes place on 115 acres between Downtown Chicago and Lake Michigan.
Millennium Park Summer Music Series – It’s free! I saw Willie Nelson perform at the Pritzker Pavillion. Gather a picnic basket, a blanket, and let the kids dance till the stars are out. It’s summer after all!
Wow, I totally love your edgy fringe! Perfect for a music festival! And your kiddos look so cute! I LOVE that overalls are coming back!! They are so adorable and comfy!
