Mad About Plaid

This season’s fall trends are some of my favorite. I’m all about just about every trend this season. I’m even all over the western trend. But, the plaid trend is taking me all the way back to one of my favorite tween movies, Clueless. Dion and Cher would be so proud of the plaid trend for fall. I am most definitely mad about plaid. Do you agree? If not, maybe I can change your mind after this post.

Plaid Trend For Fall

Plaid totally takes you back to your days of high school. The trend works for everyone. There isn’t an age demographic that can’t pull off this trend. Designers this season designed coats, scarfs, shoes, clothes and accessories in the cool print. I just recently purchased a Namjosh red plaid hair tie for those bad hair days and it’s super cute. It’s also a hit for children this season. So, I hope you like the picks I have for boys.

I am wearing a pleated plaid miniskirt from Zara. Unfortunately, it is sold out but I found a very similar skirt here. I styled it with a black suit jacket, bodysuit and socks and sandals. If you are new to the blog, I happen to love the socks and shoes trend.

My goal when styling this skirt was to be chic but comfortable. I didn’t want to look too “Clueless”. The red beret offers a pop of color and the studded socks are the element of surprise. My look can be made more casual by throwing on a turtleneck sweater and sneakers. A hoodie would also be cute and casual. When it gets a little cooler, I can add tights and boots. The styling options are endless for this skirt and the trend in general.

I always invest in trends that are timeless. Plaid print is definitely one of them. I know as a mom, it’s my go-to print for holiday family photos. It’s my favorite print to see little boys dressed up in for the holidays. However, this season, designers have totally remixed this traditional print in the likes of moto jackets, chunky scarfs and even shoes. This is definitely a trend worth buying this season. The price points are great as well. I am a high/low girl when it comes to fashion. This trend definitely meets that criteria. Therefore, this trend is par for the course. Enjoy!

PS – In addition to the items I’ve linked, Revolve went all out this season with tons of options for the plaid trend which you can find here.
