When I launched my fashion blog, I didn’t want to be known as a mom blogger. I only wanted to create content that revolved around women’s fashion. However, I knew as a blogger, I should always share my authentic self and I am a mom, so why hide it? Not to mention, the name of my blog didn’t make any sense without sharing that its my sons’ names. Clark is five and three quarters and Stone is almost four and a half.
I am so thankful for the engagement that I get when I share photos of the boys and me as a mom. I knew it all along, but people just really want to see all of you. Plus, these two have really cool style. They love bright colors, fun prints and even neckties. Needless to say, when J.Crew asked me to host the launch of Crewcuts with Clark and Stone, I jumped, screamed, and did a little dance at the opportunity.
Crewcuts with Clark and Stone
J.crew has been a staple in my closet as far back as I can remember. It dates all the way back to high school. I love that they carry the gamut — from your every day basics to a fashionista’s dream. Their catalogs are the best, but I like to stop in the store quite often too. I frequent the Michigan Avenue location — it’s my fave, personally. But, they didn’t carry crewcuts, so I would always purchase from the North Avenue store or online.
Clark and Stone have worn bowties from J.Crew since they were babies because they’re adjustable, which is great for growing kids. I started buying clothes for them there when Clark turned two and have been able to keep doing it since the girls and boys sizes at J.Crew range from size 2-16.
The boys love to pick out their clothes online but the store is a whole different ball game — they want everything! They are all over the store with the constant “Mommy can I have this”. Clark loves monsters so he absolutely had to have the necktie with the monster motif on the bottom. His school colors are blue and orange so he is constantly drawn to those two. The New Balance sneakers are bright orange, so of course, again, he “had” to have them. We recently discovered the sole actually glows in the dark — he was super excited about this. He also picked the chambray shirt and the navy shorts to stick to his favorite colors. It’s the perfect combo for now and later in September when school starts.
Stone loves fun prints so he went for the jet plane t-shirt to wear under the neon green checker shirt. As a mom who is completely obsessed with camouflage, I was just as excited as he was when he picked out his shoes — neon green with camo. They are the coolest.
Mama Loves J.Crew Too
It’s no secret that I have a long standing love affair with J.Crew. Some of my most fashionable pieces are from J.Crew. I decided to do a little shopping for myself recently and discovered a pretty great pairs of jeans. The distressed slim boyfriend jean is my new match made in heaven. They have just a tiny amount of stretch and the wash is to die for. It also has a higher waist so I can keep eating my burgers. lol.
The tie-shoulder eyelet top has a super feminine feel to it. I literally wanted to wear it all weekend — that’s how much I love this top. It’s so girlie and fun at the same time. The distressed jeans give it the right amount of edge, too. It’s pure perfection.
My shoes I purchased earlier this summer and they go great with this look. They were also on sale. Fashion win. The earrings I got are no longer available but I found a similar option here. J.Crew has the best jewelry. I’ve gotten some of my best pieces here. Just recently, I purchased 5 pairs of earrings when they had an accessory sale. Did I also mention how much I love a good deal? You can never go wrong with J. Crew for the deals they offer to their customers.
At the end of the day, when it comes to being fiscally responsible without sacrificing fashion, J.Crew is the place to be. I apply the same fashion formula for Clark and Stone — mix high and low. Way more low for them at this age because they grow so fast. Nonetheless, I don’t skimp on their style. Who doesn’t love a cool and super cute little boy? Praise God I have two of them.
I am forever grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the number one fashion brand — the pinnacle of retailers who allowed me to host the launch of their children’s line at my absolute favorite J.Crew location. Thank You!!!
