There are so many fashion trends each season, but I don’t always get on board with them. I tend to only get behind trends that have longevity. Also, trends that are very practical always get a thumbs up from me. Needless to say, my heart has done cartwheels over the hair accessory trend of wearing headbands. I’m here to help you find your inner gossip girl. Because headbands aren’t just for fictitious upper east side teenage girls, so let me show you how to wear the headband trend.

Headbands Are Everything

The headband trend started last year and it’s definitely here to stay. I purchased my first
Lele Sadoughi headband from Space 519. I jumped on the bandwagon of this trend after purchasing my pink velvet Lele headband. Also known for her amazing earring collection, Lele’s headbands are adorned with pearl embellishments, fun colors and a practical element to elevate any look. Currently, I own four Lele Sadoughi headbands that range in price from $65- $170 depending on the embellishments. I have them all on constant rotation and I’m always searching for my next must-have headband from the designer. I still don’t own an embellished one so that’s probably on my list next.

Headbands can be dressed up or down. I’ve even worn them to the gym. The headband trend also comes in many shapes and sizes. I love Eugenia Kim and Jennifer Behr‘s headbands, for example. If you haven’t noticed, I love them really big and ornate, however, sometimes just a simple padded headband like this one is the way to go.

You can wear your hair down or up with headbands. Or, rock a sleek low ponytail and add a fun headband. I like to wear them with dresses, jeans and even suits. The possibilities are endless. I love throwing on a headband when I don’t have a lot of time to get ready but still want to look put together. I also look to a headband when I feel my outfit is missing a little somethin’ somethin’.

Try This Trend

If you follow me on Instagram, you will see I’m all about the headband and I’ve worn them many ways. Headbands are my new favorite accessory for my looks. It’s a trend that if it ever goes away, I won’t let it. I’ll be rocking my headbands for years to come. I simply loved the TV show “Gossip Girl” and now I’m having my GG moment. xoxo, Gossip Girl here.
