If you’ve been following along with my blog and Instagram for a while, then you know I like to add some spice to my fashion. From polka dots to my mom style, I always try incorporate a little extra edge. Today, that edge is animal print. The good news is, it’s easier than you think and you probably already have something in your closet that will work. Here are my top ways to get some animal print worked into your daily style.

Where to Incorporate Animal Print

Coat

I love a good fur coat. The one I’m wearing in these photos is a new favorite of mine. I picked it up from Zara and have gotten a lot of wear out of it already. I like wearing animal print or fur coats because it’s like a temporary accessory. You walk into a room and make a statement with it, but then you take it off and give off a whole new vibe with your outfit. Plus, who doesn’t love a little leopard print as part of their winter wardrobe?

Shoes

Few things are better than an animal print stiletto or heeled bootie. Wearing an animal print shoe is the perfect way to add some fun to your look. Take a simple black dress. Just add an animal print heel and you go from drab to sizzling in a second. My favorite time for this kind of shoe is girl’s night or an evening out with my husband.

Sweaters

Sweaters are perfect for a fun print because you can layer it up. Not sure where to start with your layers? Have no fear, I layered an amazing cheetah sweater from Pam and Gela in this post. You can do this look in a really casual way, too if you want to keep it laid back. I like to keep an animal print sweater in rotation for my mom uniform just to keep things a little interesting.

The main thing is not to be intimidated. You really can wear animal print with a lot of different looks. Just remember to keep it simple and follow these two rules: Don’t mix two different prints in the same outfit (if you do, make sure they’re completely opposite of each other) and don’t over do it. Less is more when it comes to animal print.
