In the world of fashion, there are many staples a girl should have. Denim and leather are at the top of that list. Every fashionista owns or should own either a leather motorcycle jacket or leather pants, along with a denim jacket.
JCrew and the Gap made the denim jacket famous and accessible, and denim jeans are a timeless must have. A denim jacket is an excellent choice to style any outfit and denim jeans have been all the rage for decades. And as if there couldn’t be anything better than a leather motorcycle jacket, I discovered leather motorcycle pants. Hence, the perfect denim and leather combination.
RtA Leather
RtA is the label all the IT girls are wearing. RtA is effortless and chic; the motivation behind my personal style. The Los Angeles-based designers Eli Azran and David Rimkoh do an excellent job combining feminine and androgynous in their line for women. I discovered the Diavolina leather biker pant at Felt. And I know you’ve heard me say it several times, but Felt really is one of my favorite boutiques – they carry edgy, yet fashionable and comfortable pieces.
I fell in love with the RtA leather motorcycle pants right when I saw them. The stretchy, lambskin leather motorcycle pant adds an edgy element with a folded collar waist. Zip-ankle details and silver zippers back pockets complete the look. The Diavolina pant also comes in denim, which would be another closet staple to own. Variations of the Diavolina biker pant are also available as a denim or leather mini skirt. Very cute!
Denim Jacket
As I stated earlier, a denim jacket is a wardrobe staple. Every girl needs at least one. I, however, own six. You can never have too many, right?! The composition is usually cotton or a cotton blend, and as for care, a wash or dry clean always does the trick. Easy and durable.
Currently, distressed, raw hems, embroidery, and patches are the spring 2017 trends for denim. One of the best things about the denim jacket is that you can wear it year-round. Dress it up or dress it down; versatility goes hand-in-hand with denim. I’ve even worn a denim jacket with a cocktail dress before – the sky is the limit with styling options!
Hence, the purchase of this one from Zara. I didn’t own a distressed one and just had to have it. This jacket is so chic, right? I love the edgy elegance this jacket brings to my motorcycle pants – it actually softens the bold pant. It’s the perfect combination of edgy and feminine. It’s edgy, classic, and it’s fun, and you can never go wrong with that combination. I surely didn’t. Denim and leather, forever.
