Like most parents, my husband Stephen and I don’t get a ton of time alone. Especially with Clark and Stone being crazy active right now – so many activities! – most of our schedule revolves around them. But Stephen and I know just how important connecting one-on-one is, so we try to do it once a week, or as often as possible. Whether it’s dinner, a concert, a sporting event, or even a quick drink, we both love date night. Plus, it’s so fun dressing for it!

A dress and heels is always a good option, but you know me, I like to add edge to my looks. This outfit here is what I wore for a recent date. The focus was obviously on my statement pants. How fun are they? I’m obsessed the lace detail trend in general right now, and these make a regular pair of skinny pants so much better. They’re even a bit sexy, in my opinion. It’s a chic take on date night attire and more dressed up than jeans, but just as comfortable.

I kept everything else neutral, just like the cream pants. A black crop top is a perfect option for a date night outfit. If you’re uncomfortable thinking about showing skin, simply wear higher-waisted pants like I did. That way you’re just showing a sneak peek of your upper waist, which is a flattering part of the figure.

Adding in some sleek black accessories, like heels and a clutch, and I was ready to go! This would look cute with a leather jacket draped over my shoulders, too. Stephen approved and I felt great – a win, win for a date night outfit.
