Have you ever heard the phrase, “Do all you can to make your dreams come true”? Well, that’s what I’ve been doing since I started this blog almost a year ago. I have had several sleepless nights and very busy days as I try to balance being a stay-at-home mom and a fashion and lifestyle blogger here in Chicago. I have spent the past year telling everyone with an ear that I started a fashion blog.
Well, my friend Kim Vender Moffat was one of those friends, and she is the person responsible for making one of my dreams come true. I recently co-hosted the Veronica Beard personal appearance and fashion show at Neiman Marcus on Michigan Avenue. Say what?! I know, right?! Talk about dreams coming true. Clark and Stone and Veronica Beard is the ultimate collaboration for me. I love their chic and effortless style. It was my dream come true.
Veronica Beard, the label, is spearheaded by talented sisters-in-law, Veronica Meile Beard and Veronica Swanson Beard. They design timeless, chic, pieces for the woman on the go. Their signature Dickey jacket is what put them on the map in 2010. They have since evolved into a full ready-to-wear line that encompasses bold and classic style for the everyday woman. They recently launched their shoe line and it’s equally amazing. I mean they are major #momgoals for real. They have eight children between the two of them. And they make it all look so easy.
The Dickey Jacket
Veronica Beard launched in 2010 with their iconic Dickey jacket. This is their bread and butter of the business. It’s the signature piece for the woman that loves all things Veronica Beard. The dickey jacket comes in three silhouettes: The Classic, The School Boy and The Long and Lean. After you select your style jacket, you select your dickey.
Veronica Beard offers an array of selections for the dickey ranging from a leather motorcycle style, to the classic hoodie, to a quilted funnel neck dickey. They also work in the coats they offer. Personally, I love the camel wool and cashmere coat that I bought a few years ago with the black leather motorcycle jacket dickey. It’s pure heaven and I receive so many compliments when I wear it. The Dickey jacket can take a casual look into evening or vice versa. It’s a must-have for moms for sure. Seriously, there are times when I barely have time to wash my face before drop off, however, the dickey jacket gives you that pulled together look.
In addition to being over the moon with this collaboration, I got to wear Veronica Beard to the event. I chose the pink tuxedo. Seriously, who wouldn’t want to wear a tuxedo by Veronica Beard? I love pink so it was a no-brainer. It’s so me too — classic with a hint of edge. The fuchsia is bold and bright and the Keaton jacket has black satin lapels for the win. I could wear it everyday if Chicago would let me.
The matching pant has a crop flare that is perfect on its own with a white tee and a dickey jacket. Or, even a motorcycle jacket. I chose to wear both together for a mega statement. I styled it with a Vans X Karl Lagerfeld collaboration tee. I loved how they styled it with a black tee so I added major wattage to the wow factor with my Karl t-shirt.
Experience Of A Lifetime
In addition to co-hosting with four other lovely women, I had the pleasure of meeting Veronica Beard. They are so lovely and true beauties inside and out. They are so genuine and fashionable. Veronica Swanson Beard and Veronica Miele Beard each have their own style and it shows in the line. Veronica Swanson Beard rocks looks that are boho and preppy inspired, while Veronica Miele Beard’s style inspiration is fearless. I am forever thankful to Veronica Beard, Neiman Marcus, and the host of ladies that came out to support Clark and Stone that evening. In case you missed the event, I’m linking some of my favorite pieces from Veronica Beard.
