If there’s one look I’ve loved wearing this summer, it’s the bell sleeve. It takes me back and I love the retro vibe it brings. Also, it can be both fancy and casual depending on how you accessorize it, which makes it perfect for a mom who needs to like nice, but still has to wrangle two crazy boys.
The Bell Sleeve
For this look, I wanted something easy and not fussy and I love the way it turned out. My top, cue the bell sleeve, is from ASOS and is one of my best purchases this summer. You can style it so many different ways — casual with shorts like I did here, or it could easily be worn with a pencil skirt for a date night or girls night out.
I’m all about the details of this top, too. Between the ruffles on the shoulder, the detail at the elbow and the bell sleeve, it basically accessorizes itself. You know me though, I had to add some colorful, statement earrings from H&M and some arm candy.
These shorts are incredible and have been so fun to wear all summer with their high waist and patchwork. They make me feel like a kid again with the Pac-Man detail (who else loved Pac-Man as a kid?). As great as the shorts are, they could easily be swapped out for a great pair of jeans to continue this look into the fall.
What’s going on around my ankles is my favorite part of the outfit (other than the bell sleeve, of course). These black boots are everything. They’re from Chanel and are so comfortable. Now for the cool detail — my pink, ruffled socks. They add an amazing pop of color and match the earrings flawlessly. I love that this is essentially an all-black outfit, but the consistent color in my earrings and socks make it a complete look.
The point of all of this is, the bell sleeve is a style that isn’t going anywhere after the summer season (along with my other end-of-summer essentials) is up and I highly recommend scooping one up for fall and even — dare I say it — the holidays.
