It’s officially summer, so of course I’m thinking about all the color I can add to my wardrobe in the next few months. I always like to make sure I have the basic pieces in neutral colors, but to mix things up, I love a pop of color to add interest to my look. One of my favorite colors to sprinkle in to my everyday style is yellow, so you’ll see lots of it in this post.
With summer clothes, though, comes summer activities with the boys, so as always, it’s important for me to stay flexible. Being able to throw on a bright bomber or stylish sunglasses that can take me from baseball practice to drinks with the girls or date night is key.
I’m obsessed with this look because it checks all the boxes I mentioned above. The yellow color of this jacket is everything. Fun pieces like this are a staple in my wardrobe. It’s got the look of a jean jacket, but is actually a nice silk so it’s not too dressy or too casual.
If there’s one trend you need to try this summer, other than incorporating yellow into your style, it’s culottes. These are light, breezy and have a pom pom detail. They’re perfect. I paired them with a flat sandal so I could still keep up with Clark and Stone, but because they have a great pattern, there’s enough interest for them to go from day to night.
We also have to talk about these sunnies. These were the perfect finishing touch to my yellow look. They’re from Illesteva and I can’t get enough of them. They’re reflectors so they add in that extra edge I’m always looking for.
The last piece of my outfit is my clutch. It may not be yellow, but it brings in another favorite color of mine and shows you don’t have to be super match-y match-y when bringing some fun summer color into your wardrobe.
